EmiWeb keeps growing

EmiWeb is starting a new cooperation with Minnesota Historical Society. As a result Minnesota State Census will be available via EmiWeb, approximately 6 million records. New technical solutions has made this possible, this means that data no longer has to be hosted internally in EmiWeb in order to be searchable. EmiWeb will be built by both using internal and external databases and aims to act more as a Nordic migration portal.

Archives in EmiWeb are now easier to preview since two of them are partly opened for free in a limited search function. This means that users can register a free subscription and get limited access to these two archives. By this we wish to make it easier for potential users to test EmiWeb before buying a complete subscription. And also understand what kind of archives that is available. Initially the following archives will be open for limited search:

"Emigrants registered in Swedish church books"

"The Danish emigration database"

11/6/09:New archive available: Swedish American assoication members, approx. 31 000 records.

11/3/09:Obituaries from the newspapers: Utah Posten, Utah Korrespondenten, Veskusten and Skandinavia has been added to the archive Obituaries from Swedish-American newspapers, approx. 2 100 records
